Welcome To Tennesse2167 viewsIf you happen to be traveling North on I-26 and have just entered Tennessee, stop at the very first Rest Stop and Welcome center. Just across the Interstate is Clear Branch Falls.
Go under I-26 and turn right at the stop sign. Proceed past the Church and as you descend down the hill keep a lookout on your left. Just past the last house is Clear Branch Falls (upper). After that keep an eye out and you will see Clear Branch Falls (lower)
Green Cove Station then.2165 viewsTake notice the horse is pulling a sled. Little horse drawn carts did not work well on the mountain slopes.
I saw the Creeper a couple of times after moving to this area in 1976.

First Trip 2161 viewsBJ made her first trip to the bottom of Linville Gorge. She sure was a great hiking pal.
Actually she had no trouble and we had energy to see the Plunge Pool.
If you are reasonably fit and visiting Western North Carolina, you should go down to the gorge. After the crowds go home and during the work week this is a wonderful place to sit in awe of what time and water has wrought.
