Reflections2342 viewsI measured fall to be about 38 ft. Despite sunshine, we got a passing cloud to take this reflection. Note the tunnels and potholes on the top left.Aug 02, 2012

Different Falls2173 viewsA hole from the top to the bottom of the falls, note patch of sunshine, makes Bard different from any other falls I have hiked to.Aug 02, 2012

Another Pretty Face2161 viewsCould not resist photographing this little cascade just upstream from Bard Falls, located on the Mountains To Sea Trail.

If you have not hiked the MTS Trail, you need to. The trail is so well kept it turns difficult into "just plain pretty'.

Another side2482 viewsIf you venture up on the "Big" rock you get this view of the falls emptying into this "trench" and running off the right side and under the big rock.Jul 06, 2012

Lower Little Lost Cove Falls2136 viewsN 36.02166 W 081.82910

I saw a description of this falls that nearly discouraged me from going here. Glad I did not listen.

This is a very high waterfall that, even in low water, is spectacular.

At the upper falls, use the trail and don't take a short cut down the Butt Slide like we did, an you will have no trouble down and back. It is quiet strenuous though.

Why I hike waterfalls2271 viewsThis pothole is the reason I came to Steele Creek, and why I hike waterfalls. They are all different but, this one is downright strange and I will return for further exploring.Jul 04, 2012

I did come back!2285 viewsI don't like top down photos but, this one shows my destination, the rock where the water disappears.

My first visit was a flop. This time, with a little more experience
(how much more experience does a 74 yr old goat need) I made it to the top.

Broken Heart2239 viewsMaybe this falls should be renamed "Broken Heart". The pothole forms the shape of a heart, broken by the creek entering and leaving it.Jul 04, 2012

Water Cave2188 viewsSteele Creek goes under this big rock, forming a foam whirlpool.

Views from this vantage point are the reason I give Steel reek Falls a *** rating. Note the rope on the rock. This is a very slick area so use the rope to hold on.

This little area can definitely clean your family gene pool.
