One of every "Airdale's" dreaded duties, if you flew out of Elizabeth City, NC was to fly Ice Patrol from Argentia, Newfoundland. About the equivelent of a thirty day sentence in a freezer.
We actually located and plotted Ice Bergs and forecast their course.Aug 23, 2011

Jose1737 viewsThis is Jose, one of our, shall we say extended crew members. Jose is taking a little R & R from cleaning bugs off the windshield of the Albatross, a job usually reserved for the Radioman and may I say, much easier while aircraft is parked.
The Osa Peninsula of Costa Rico is a perfect place for Jose to relax.Aug 16, 2011

Backbone Rock2257 viewsLocated on TN 133 about 5 miles from Damascus, VA.
The arch is man made for old logging trains. Note the size or the tunnel compared to the lady standing in it. Also notice the notch in the top of the tunnel. That is so the smoke stack of the train could clear the top.
While visiting the park, there is a waterfalls behind the photographer and a cascade in the park behind the lady.Aug 13, 2011

Slim1674 viewsIf slim had been on the freeway instead of a bike way he would be known as a sail snake.
(sail snake: a snake that has been repeatedly run over until flat and dried. Then you can pick it up and sail it like boomerang.)
Not to worry, Slim is living large in Virginia and having a fresh tourist everyday.Aug 13, 2011
