CG 1275 Remembered2068 viewsTo the best of my knowledge and ancient memory, this was the first Coast Guard aircraft I flew on~1964, at Elizabeth City, NC.

I had just arrived from eight Years of AIMING HIGH, USAF. For this I gave up B-52s and an eight hour day.

Welcome To Tennesse2165 viewsIf you happen to be traveling North on I-26 and have just entered Tennessee, stop at the very first Rest Stop and Welcome center. Just across the Interstate is Clear Branch Falls.

Go under I-26 and turn right at the stop sign. Proceed past the Church and as you descend down the hill keep a lookout on your left. Just past the last house is Clear Branch Falls (upper). After that keep an eye out and you will see Clear Branch Falls (lower)

BOLDAR_640x480.jpg
ADF2024 viewsHis crew position is more like an instrument, Aviation Direction Finder. The reason for this title is his ability to rapidly ascend ridges I will only see from an aircraft, and find alternative trails when searching for "new" falls.

An excellent Woodsman I am fortunate to go waterfalling with.

Tree Rock2081 viewsCheck out the rock in the tree above Lou. Only explanation I could think of is the tree grew up under the rock, which is now firmly embedded in the fork of the tree.

Got a better explanation send it to us.

Laurel Fork Falls, NC (2).jpg
Laurel Creek Falls *2440 viewsLocals refer to this falls as Trash Can Falls, not because of it being trashy but, at one time there was a public dumpster nearby.

With that said, the day I was there was following a downpour of rain so the creek was muddy.
