I did come back!420 viewsI don't like top down photos but, this one shows my destination, the rock where the water disappears.

My first visit was a flop. This time, with a little more experience
(how much more experience does a 74 yr old goat need) I made it to the top.

Better Than Expected418 viewsI expected to see a 60 ft falls but, measure this beauty at more than 100 ft.

Lasers don't really like the brush seen at the top of the falls here but, I got consistent marks at over 100 ft and a solid mark at 91 ft.

Just A Cornfield?417 viewsIt was just a cornfield until that faithful day of September, 17th 1862, when the blood of twenty three thousand Men forever fertilized the conscience of the greatest nation ever to have been on Earth.

River Wall416 viewsNo, I didn't mean to say river walk. That really is a wall built in the edge of the river.

i would guess, due to it being located in the curve of the river, it prevents the railroad from being washed out.

Too much rain in the mountains makes great waterfalls but, is devastating to railroads that run along the banks of the river.

Waterfall Exit415 viewsWhen one decides to build a railroad in front of a waterfall what do you do with the waterfall after the water has fallen?

Easy, build a culvert, or trestle if you like, cover it with dirt and lay the tracks over it.

The water exits to the river and the tracks don't get washed away.
